Our Mission
The War On Cancer app aims to radically improve the mental health of everyone affected by cancer. We aim to build the world’s leading cancer support app, connecting people during and after treatment with others that can relate to their experiences. We aim to help those affected by cancer to process, psychologically and emotionally, their experiences. We are also enabling War On Cancer users to share their health data to improve cancer research and cancer care. The War On Cancer app is a social network for everyone affected by cancer; cancer patients, loved ones, cancer thrivers, cancer survivors and fighters. What we categorise or choose to label ourselves as is not at all important, what’s important is that we as a community try and improve the mental health of everyone affected by cancer. We aim to do so by creating a safe space where we help each other and support one another when going through cancer. By becoming a part of the War On Cancer community you will be able to participate in health studies. Health studies aim to bridge the gap between cancer patients and research. We aim to find a link between areas such as coronavirus / Covid-19 and cancer care, and aim to find the link between cancer and mental health problems such as anxiety, PTSD and clinical depression. We also want to understand how cancer affects mental health, what type of mental health support cancer patients may want and how cancer research and mental health can be improved for future cancer patients.
