War On Cancer, a leading health-tech startup aimed at radically improving the wellbeing of those impacted by cancer, has recently announced the appointment of Dr. Caroline Weibull as lead scientist.
Dr. Caroline Weibull (MSc, PhD) has a background in mathematical statistics and has been working as a biostatistician at Karolinska Institutet in the field of register-based cancer epidemiology for the last 12 years. In 2018 she defended her PhD thesis, entitled “Survivorship in Hodgkin lymphoma: Childbearing and treatment-related disease”.
In her academic work, Caroline’s primary research focus is on cancer patient survival, with a particular emphasis on survivorship after lymphoma and statistical methods in relative survival and multistate modelling. She has a wide range of research collaborations; nationally but also within the Nordic countries, in particular with the Nordic Lymphoma Group, and beyond such as with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA. Caroline has presented her research at more than 20 international scientific conferences, including as an invited speaker. Additionally, she has taught a variety of courses in the fields of epidemiology and biostatistics on both a national and international level.
