The Podcast seeks to discuss the realities of going through cancer

The company’s co-founder and podcast co-host, Fabian Bolin, is in his third year of remission. Having been diagnosed with leukemia in 2015. His own experiences with cancer shaped how he wanted War On Cancer: The Podcast to approach and discuss the realities of going through cancer:

“When I was first diagnosed, I found that there wasn’t much opportunity to discuss the issues that mattered to me most. Or to get actionable advice on the elements of life that were important to me. When you’re being treated for cancer, holding on to normality can be difficult. Not having access to understandable resources, or advice about day-to-day elements of the cancer journey, such as mental health, diet and exercise, or how to manage relationships, can make an already traumatic situation more difficult than it has to be. We want to create a resource that helps to answer some of the questions people affected by cancer are often unable to ask or have answered, to support the mental health of everyone affected by cancer”.

War On Cancer’s co-founder, COO and Fabian’s best friend, Sebastian Hermelin, adds:

“Seeing Fabian go through cancer was a very difficult period for all of his friends and family. Much like Fabian, one of the things we were all able to find comfort in was witnessing his commitment to storytelling. Being a part of Fabian’s journey meant I saw first hand the profound impact that sharing through text and images can have on the mental health of someone affected by cancer. We hope that this podcast will help to support people going through cancer. And help them to learn more about the disease and ways of living with it. ”
